Each Day,
domestic violence takes from its victims. In many instances, victims lose everything, including their homes. WomenShelter of Long Beach provides a safe place for survivors and their children while they overcome the trauma caused by domestic abuse and embark upon their journey of recovery.
To shelter, feed and counsel one domestic abuse victim costs $142 per day — or an average of $2,840 for their entire stay at the emergency shelter. WSLB also offers hundreds of survivors and their children services through the agency’s nonresidential programs offered through WSLB’s Domestic Violence Resource Center.
